What was it like to live in rural Norfolk in the past?

Amazing old photographs belonging to Norwich-based historians Peter and Rosemary Salt will be the subject of a slide show at Wymondham Abbey on Saturday.

The show, entitled Old Wymondham and Changing Scenes of the Countryside, will offer many glimpses of people and places from Victorian times onwards.

This image of Marshall's horse-drawn delivery wagon, paused next to a rather slimmer Kett's Oak, is from an age long before supermarkets or online shopping. The talk will take place in Wymondham Abbey at 2.30pm. Tickets, price £5 including tea, are available in advance from Joyce Reynolds, 01953 604904, or at the door on the day.
