Filming took place earlier this week with former England cricketer Phil Tufnell, right, who presents The Name Game item, trying to explain how interesting place names came about. Among the theories is that Diss derived from the Anglo-Saxon word for ditch or dyke.
The BBC1 show goes out at 7pm on weekdays, and the Diss feature is likely to screened next week.
