Homeowners in Hethersett are being asked to do their bit to save the environment ahead of the village's Go Green Day which takes place in the village hall this Saturday.

Special “Go Green” re-usable bags are being delivered to every home along with an invitation to attend the Green Village 2008 event which runs from noon until 4pm with numerous displays and advice on becoming more eco conscious and reducing carbon footprints.

The Hethersett Environmental Action Team (HEAT) is encouraging residents to use the new bags for shopping rather than plastic carriers.

The cost of the bags has been covered by a grant from Hethersett Parish Council.
