The Waitrose in-store coffee shop in Wymondham will be presenting a 10 minute play called “Lonely Hearts” as part of an experiment to make live theatre more accessible to the general public.
It has been written by local resident Tony Vale, the aim also being to provide an opportunity for an amateur playwright to have his work performed in front of an audience.
“It's a great thrill for me to have my script brought to life in this way and Waitrose are to be congratulated for their innovative approach to supporting community projects of this kind,” he said.
The play focuses on a couple who find mutual companionship while waiting for their blind dates to arrive. The parts are played by Mr Vale's wife, Georgette, and Richard Crawley a writer who also enjoys acting. Performances are at 2pm and 2.45pm on Thursday February 14.
