On Saturday, February 23, the main room of the Connaught Hall in Attleborough will play host to a range of activities, organised specifically for the youth of the town and the surrounding area.

Young people of school years 7 to 11 are invited to go along for as long or short a time as they wish between 7.30pm and 9.30pm and enjoy console games, dance mats, film, indoor football and food.

The event is entirely free and organised by the newly-formed Attleborough charity, The Lighthouse, which currently runs Sparklers, a Friday morning parent and toddlers' group.

The event's organisers hosted a similar youth function, on a smaller scale, in October last year, which met with a very favourable response and they are keen to embrace the challenges of a larger venue.

It is The Lighthouse's particular desire that young people from all backgrounds feel welcomed at this event and the publicity has been translated into Polish and Lithuanian, in order to encourage the children of non-English speakers to attend.
