Wymondham Arts Forum is holding a 'Come and Try' event featuring a number of arts and craft activities. The event will be held in the Fairland Hall, Wymondham, on Saturday, from 10am to 3pm. Entry is free and refreshments will be on sale, and there will also be the chance to purchase work produced by the artists and craftspeople who will be demonstrating their skills.

The 'come and try' events offer an opportunity for visitors to talk informally about methods and techniques with members of the local arts and crafts community, and to try out different media for themselves. Print-making, wood-turning, quilting and other fabric work, silk painting and making jewellery from plastic bags are among the media which will be shown.

Arts Forum chairman John Wood said: “Do come along and find out about more about Wymondham's arts and crafts scene. If you are active in any creative area, or just interested, come along and meet us. Meeting people who can demonstrate and teach arts or craft skills may be your introduction to a new interest or pastime, and in many cases you can try it for yourself and see how you like it.”

Wymondham Arts Forum was set up in 2001 and meets twice yearly to encourage and promote the arts and crafts with talks, demonstrations and displays of work. Over the last three years it has devised and delivered the successful Tiffey Trails arts and heritage project designed to use the arts, crafts, music and writing to promote and preserve Wymondham's peaceful river valley.
