Sunday, March 9 sees the launch of a car boot sale in Attleborough by town councillors in a recycling initiative that could become a quarterly event.

Andy Free, whose responsibilities include town promotion and open spaces, said it is fitting that any money raised will be divided between Attleborough in Bloom and mayor Vera Dale's charity supporting youth projects in Attleborough.

He said spring is a great time for people to have a sort out of unused items and unwanted Christmas presents, and a car boot sale is an ideal way to raise a bit of money by recycling and get involved in a community event at the same time.

The sale will start bright and early at 6am at the Connaught Hall and should close at about noon. Pitches are £6 a car or £11 a van, with a £1 discount by pre-booking, and Mr Free and his family will be on hand serving teas and coffees in the hall.

Call him at Rosedale Funeral Home in Attleborough, on 01953 452538 between 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday for more details.
