Young Wymondham footballers celebrate new changing rooms
Young footballers in Wymondham are celebrating the official opening of new changing facilities.
Members of Wymondham Town United Youth (WTUY) gathered on Sunday when the red ribbon was cut to the modern facilities at the club's Ketts Park base which replace an ageing mobile changing unit.
The honours were given to Wymondham Town Mayor Neil Ward and Norfolk FA chairman Richard King, which each contributed towards the project alongside the football club.
John Cook, chairman of WTUY, said the opening signalled a 'fantastic' time for the growing club which also hopes to boost the quality of its pitches next year with an improved drainage system.
'A considerable time ago, a main hall was put on Ketts Park but there was no provision specifically for changing rooms and as Wymondham Town United Youth has grown - we have close to 200 members - we needed some improved facilities,' said Mr Cook.
'The club and I are absolutely delighted we can now welcome the opposition and when they turn up they will have a fantastic perspective of the football club.'
The new building boasts four changing rooms accommodating both girls and boys for the first time, a disabled changing area, a referees' room and a small kitchen with state-of-art lighting and heating systems.

The club, which began in 1996, is open to youngsters aged five to 16-years-old and is seen as a stepping stone to the senior sides of Wymondham Town Football Club, based at Kings Head Meadow.
WTUY, which is a charter standard club, has 10 pitches of varying sizes, as well as a development squad area and a training area.
