Wymondham stretched their run of home league wins to 21, but only by the skin of their teeth after scoring the winning points in the final play of the game.

Ross Crook kicked an early penalty for the hosts but it wasn't long before Beccles fly-half Dillon Rowney picked up a loose ball to sprint 50 metres to score, with Wade adding an excellent conversion.

From the re-start Beccles conceded their third kickable penalty and Crook reduced the deficit. Extended pressure was finally rewarded when man of the match Andrew Nelson bulldozed over to give Wymondham a four-point lead. This stung Beccles into action and two Wade penalties gave them the lead.

Crook's penalty kick regained the lead for Wymondham after the break. He had the chance to give Wymondham a seven-point cushion but conditions underfoot were not easy and both kicks were missed. Wade then notched another penalty in the 75th minute to put Beccles two ahead.

A desperate Wymondham side now threw everything into attack and in the fifth minute of added time Beccles, for the third time in the game, were reduced to 14 men when Gavin Hewitt was shown a yellow card.

From the resultant penalty Coltman took a quick tap and Mike Kerridge became the hero of Tuttles Lane as he breached the Beccles defence to squeeze over for the try.

Crook's conversion, whilst immaterial, gave Wymondham a five-point lead, the largest of the whole game for a final score of 21-16.
