With a generous and extended prize list, three Wymondham AC members walked off with individual trophies.

Anne Martin successfully defended her position as the leading W70 runner and came again first in that age group in 52:58.

Russell Clarke, normally opting for the longer and ultra distances, proved that he runs well over 10k and his time of 39:00 placed him third in the M50 age band.

Rodney Freeburn, who runs to keep fit for orienteering events, scooped the fifth prize in the M70 group in 69:27.

Wymondham's men were led home by Oliver Milk, who reached the finish line in an impressive 35:19. Eddie Greenland 39:04 did particularly well considering he completed the London Marathon the previous week.

Further good results were achieved by Roy Harvey, Ian Crutchley and Ed Burton finishing in 43:03, 43:34 and 43:45 respectively with Crutchley improving his personal best by an amazing two minutes.

Steve Cuviello 47:53 and Graham Coleman 48:48 both ran a personal best time over that distance. Mike Smith 49:28 and Robert Scarfe 51:18 followed in a solid a well paced run.

Rather than pounding the streets of King's Lynn, 10 WAC members opted for the Breckland 10k race instead, held on a quiet country roads near Thetford.

In-form Tanya Crofts continued her outstanding performances and comfortably won the W35 age group. Her time of 40:53 was not only a personal best but also an all-time WAC club record. The previous record stood for 20 years.

New members, David Dysart 44:36 and Tracy Dodsworh 46:46 also achieved a personal best time. Running conditions were perfect and Jenny Christian 44:13, Sharon Hurren 44:40, Mark Tufts 46:30 Ron Marsh 49:44 and Louis Cooper 52:13 all managed to run faster than in their last 10k race.

Dennis Wells 57:36 did well in his first race of the year and fastest WAC runner, Terry Epps 39:26 was the only one to get inside 40 minutes.
