Danny Wright, from Attleborough, savoured Histon's FA Cup giant-killing of Leeds United saying: “We believe we can do anything now.”

The match at the Glass World Stadium had a nationwide TV audience on the edge of their seats on Sunday lunchtime as the minnows held on for a famous 1-0 win in the face of Leeds' second-half onslaught.

Wright, who played for Dereham and Attleborough before joining the Blue Square Premier outfit, never stopped running all game and was a useful outlet late on, when Leeds began to exert consistent pressure.

The 24-year-old striker said the team never stopped believing that they could upset the League One high-flyers, managed by Gary McAllister.

“Towards the end of the second half we were under the cosh a bit, but there was some tremendous defending from our lads,” he said.

“I thought we deserved to go through. I don't think we were overwhelmed in any way.

“Certainly in the first half we were the better side.

“We always believed we could do it. Doing it against Swindon and against Leeds, we believe we can do anything now,” he added.

Although Swansea City do not represent the glamour third-round tie everyone was hoping for, skipper Mat Mitchel-King believes there is no reason why the Stutes, managed by Steve Fallon, assisted by John Beck, can't achieve another upset at the Glass World Stadium in January.

“We've mixed it with one of the big boys now, and feel unstoppable at the moment,” he said. “We've been rising above everything that people keep saying against us.

“We just hope we can keep it going. It's one fairytale after another. It gets to one point and we get to the top of the league and people think maybe it's going to stop there.”
