A team of youngsters from Wymondham will fulfil every child's dream when they step out at the Home of Football at the FA/McDonald's National Football Festival next Thursday.

Wymondham U10 will be among more than 700 other children who will follow in the footsteps of their footballing heroes as they receive the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play on the turf at Wembley Stadium.

The youngsters will also enjoy an action packed day of coaching and mini-tournaments plus a special appearance from 1966 World Cup hero, Sir Geoff Hurst.

Wymondham will receive expert tuition from McDonald's/FA-qualified community coaches and McDonald's Head Coach, Eric Harrison, the former Manchester United Youth Team Coach who helped to nurture the careers of David Beckham and Ryan Giggs.

McDonald's community football programme involves sponsoring over 4,500 local football clubs and coaching over one million children.

Hurst, who is McDonald's Director of Football, said: 'McDonald's Community Programme continues to go from strength to strength and the National Festival provides a fitting finale to a fantastic summer of Football Open Days across the country. It should be a great day!'

Kenny Russel, local McDonald's franchisee, said: 'I'm delighted that a team from Norfolk will get the opportunity to play at Wembley and meet a legend like Sir Geoff Hurst. I'm sure it will be fantastic experience and a day they'll never forget.'
