INVITED to bat first by Hingham, Old Buckenham lost Joe Perry (11) and Ben Askew (3) bowled by Butcher and Dicks before Ian Pape 46 and Simon Newberry 34 not out added 62 for the third wicket.

Pape was caught off Edwards in sight of a half century and Alex Hainsby 33 then added 47 with Newberry before he was bowled by Edwards.

Josh Downes (1) and father Rob (5) were both bowled by Edwards who finished with four for 37 before Mike Banham helped Old Buckenham to a fourth batting point.

Weston for Hingham bowled his 12 overs at the top of the innings for just 29 runs.

Paul Fitt opening the bowling with brother David took the first four wickets for 33 in a fine 12-over spell with Key (1) and S Guy both bowled and Reeve and Grear-Hardy both excellently caught by Rob Downes.

Hingham then got some rhythm with Butcher (29) and S Guy (31) surviving dropped catches to take the score from 36 for four to 100.

Then Mike Banham struck by bowling Butcher and having Guy lbw as debutant Ron Ashdown also had Edmonds lbw for three wickets to suddenly fall for a single run.

Dicks (18 not out) and Edwards (20) took the score to 134 before Banham bowled Edwards.

Again dropped catches could have turned the match as Weston chanced his arm with a four and a six off Banham only for the recalled Ashdown to bowl Weston with the score 162 for nine.

Cooper almost cut Banham on to his stumps as he scampered for the run to tie the scores and then got the winning run with four balls to spare.
