John Whitehead has joined Wymondham Rugby Club as their new head coach, leading a powerful, new-look coaching team including Alan Turner and Julian Bradford, with Chris Brown providing innovative and exciting fitness programmes.
Whitehead is an RFU qualified Level Three coach who has experience at a higher level than Wymondham, having coached Maidstone and Thanet Wanderers, who both ply their rugby trade in London 2 South.
In addition, he has an excellent record of working with youngsters and successfully coached the first XVs of several schools in Kent.
Having consolidated their place in London Three (NE) over the last two seasons under the able leadership of Dave Masdin, who is taking a well-earned rest from coaching, Wymondham will now be looking to progress to the next level.
John Mackay, club chairman, said: 'As soon as we heard John was available and moving to the area, we started talking to him and it immediately became apparent that he fitted perfectly with our style - a strong belief in hard work, open rugby and success with a smile!
'When his record was confirmed by glowing references, we moved swiftly to secure John on a long-term contract,' he added.
Whitehead will start his tenure at 7pm on Tuesday, August 10 at the club's training session.
