This Saturday all three Hethersett teams are in Norfolk League action.

The unbeaten firsts take on Rollesby at Flordon while the seconds visit Saham Toney and the thirds are home to Hales III. On Sunday Hethersett set off on a three-game Bank Holiday tour of Nottinghamshire.

Hethersett faced a difficult trip to Aldborough last weekend and were put into bat by the home side.

One of Hethersett's strengths in the opening matches of the new season has been the form of openers Richard Ellis and Carl Puttock. On Saturday it was Puttock's turn to star with an innings of 71 that included 10 fours and a six.

Skipper Matt Ellis (56) continued his sensational form that has seen him hammer three consecutive half- centuries. Tim Shelley weighed in with 27 as Hethersett reached 212-6.

Aldborough lost opener Ben Flannaghan early on before Paul Reeve (78) and Tom Farrow (19) began to get to grips with the Hethersett attack.

Asad Abbas caused most problems with 3-47, well backed up by Carl Edwards with 2-41.

A total of 32 wides put pressure on Hethersett but Aldborough fell just four runs short.

Hethersett Seconds' scheduled home game against Horsford Thirds was abandoned due to bad weather.

Hethersett Thirds went down by seven wickets to Shipdham Seconds in Division 10.

Hethersett batted first and were all out for 86 in 29 overs with only Chris Bolderstone (23) reaching double figures. Shipdham reached their target for the loss of three wickets, taken by Bolderstone, Dale Clarke, Alex Reeder.

Hethersett and Tas Valley had a comfortable passage through to the second round of the Bernard Matthews Cup with a 42-run victory over Ketteringham Hall.

Hethersett hammered 173-3 from their restricted 16 overs with Dave Cosford (53) and Nick Burrett (62) picking off the bowlers,, well supported by Lee King (27no) and Matt Ellis (11no).

Ketteringham fell well short of their target, being all out for 131 with Matt Steward taking 3-26 and two wickets each for Steven Beck and Asad Abbas.

Hethersett and Tas Valley suffered a double reversal in Sunday League games at the weekend. The first team went down by six wickets to Dereham and the seconds lost by nine wickets to Hardingham. The firsts opened the batting against Dereham but struggled to 130-9 from their 40 overs with only opener Richard Ellis (55) and brother Matt Ellis (21) reaching double figures.

Dereham reached their target for the loss of four wickets. Steven Beck (3-31) was the pick of Hethersett's bowlers.

The Seconds were skittled out for 64 by Hardingham with Phil Walmsley (30) top scoring. Hardingham reached their target in 10 overs for the loss of just one wicket.

Hethersett U11 beat Mulbarton U11 by seven runs in the U11 Alliance.
