Mulbarton Junior School were hosts for the preliminary round of The Year 5/6 National Asda Girls Kwik Cricket Competition and welcomed St Mary's, Dickleburgh and Hapton to Orchard Park.

The competition was played in a league format with winners being decided on points. Hapton, having never played this form of cricket before, learnt much from the day and competed with enthusiasm and spirit despite losing all of their games. St Mary's won two games and Dickleburgh one.

But the day belonged to the hosts, Mulbarton (pictured), winning all three of their games and the opportunity to progress to the county finals.

The year 5 preliminary rounds of the same competition were hosted by St Thomas More this year and included teams from Mulbarton and Eaton. Three games were played and St Thomas More won both of their matches and promotion to the next stage, with Mulbarton second and Eaton third.
