On Sunday, the short mat bowls end-of-season Hingham Challenge Trophy took place at Hingham.

There were three other clubs participating, Diss, Watton and Wymondham, with Diss having won the trophy the last three times.

But this year's winners, for the first time, were an ever-improving Wymondham team who won the shield with 143 shots. In second place were Hingham with 101 and Watton coming third with Diss a surprising fourth.

It has been a very successful season again for Wymondham who came third in the Breckland League with their highest ever points total of 133 and a deserved trophy at Hingham last weekend.

Wymondham are also looking forward to another successful season in the summer league, which this time is in Division Two.
