Jack Spall, 12, of Attleborough High School competed in the 10th TAGB Inter-club Tournament in Hemel Hempstead last weekend and came away with a double medal delight.

Jack entered into a mixed category of third to first Kup competitors in patterns. After lots of hard work and repetitive training leading up to this competition, he pulled away with an amazing achievement of a silver medal.

The competition continued to sparring events, Jack has now been placed in the heavyweight category making his opponents not only older but bigger and stronger, he had an amazing run getting through to the semi-finals only to be beaten by his towering six feet, six inches tall opponent Tom Chamont.

The size of his opponent did not deter him in any way and he put on a powerful battle although losing by six points, Jack still managed to pull off four points against the bigger competitor earning a well-deserved bronze medal. Jack v Giant, as the fight was aptly called by officials (see picture above).

Following on from the individual sparring it was then time for the tag team events, Jack fronted his tag team (Team Rocket) by winning all nine points for the team.

As the summer holidays are now here Jack will be training daily with his coach Mutar Hussin, and sparring coach Liam Palmer, preparing himself for the World Championships in September.
