Wymondham slipped into the relegation zone after losing their first home league game, to Billericay, since October 2006.

Billericay stuck to basics, kept to their game plan and scored four tries, Wymondham, on the other hand, seemed unable to sustain their own plan but they did score three superb tries of their own.

The visitors opened the scoring when No 8 David Draper picked up and crashed over, with Simon Draper converting.

Wymondham hit back in style, stringing together 10 phases that ended with the mud-laden ball being slickly handled through 14 sets of hands before Ian Harris linked with his brother Neil, the latter ending off a brilliant move.

Wymondham were now at their irresistible best and Leathes Prior man of the match Alex Brugger went over for his seventh try of the season.

Draper brought the visitors within two points after only three minutes of the second half before some woeful tackling allowed Ben Campion through to score a soft try. Then, in the 75th minute, Campion broke from a scrum to score his second try converted from wide out by Bradley.

This ignited Wymondham and they scored another fine try. The ball went through several pairs of hands as Ian Harris went down inches short.

Quick recycling saw Pat Reed pick out Aaron Swanborough who crashed over to score. Wilson just missed the conversion and the vistors held on to win 24-19.
