It has been a remarkable season of success for Hethersett Athletic.

Hethersett Athletic celebrated promotion to the Crown Fire South and Central Norfolk League Division Two, the Ladies' side won the Eastern Region Women's League Cup for the third consecutive season and there were league titles for the Ladies' Hearts and U17 Girls with the latter also winning their league cup. The U14 girls finished runners-up in their league.

Club chairman Peter Steward said: 'It seems that virtually everything we have touched this season has turned to gold or should I say silver. It has been a remarkable effort from the players, the managers and coaches and everyone involved with the club behind the scenes. We have a thriving football club that we believe is a credit to the village.'

Hethersett Athletic Ladies have been enjoying a late season renaissance with seven points from their last three league games. After dropping down the Eastern Region Premier Division they have arrested their fall with a 1-0 win over Haringey, a 1-1 draw against Cambridge University and a 5-0 victory over West Lynn. Scorers against West Lynn were Emma Mulley (2), Hayley Martin (2) and Natasha Snelling with her first goal for the club.

The fixture against West Lynn saw the side play their first game at Wroxham FC.

Trafford Park will be the team's home pitch next season. The decision to play at Wroxham is due to league criteria which means matches cannot be played at the usual Easton College venue due to the distance between the changing facilities and the pitch.

'We are very appreciative of Wroxham allowing us to use their excellent facilities.

'We have now reached a level in the ladies game where there are no suitable facilities in Hethersett or the surrounding area that meet the league criteria.

'Our ultimate aim is to step up to the third national tier of women's football.

'We have a number of highly rated young players and we must ensure that the facilities we provide are up to scratch,' said Hethersett Athletic chairman Peter Steward.

The ladies team has two more matches to complete its league season with visits to Bedford and Haringey.
