CYCLE speedway riders from Hethersett are off to Australia this weekend, leaving the snow and ice behind to face 40 degree heat. They are part of the official Great Britain party travelling to compete in an international series and the World Team, Individual and Pairs Championships.

Jazz Abbott and Ben Collins are in the GB Junior squad for three Test Matches while Dave Martin is in the Ireland team for the World Cup. Tiffany Collins makes up the Hethersett team who will compete in the World Club Championships and she will also race in the first ever Women's World Championship.

Also in the party is Leigh Cossey, a former Hethersett rider who still lives in the village, who is in the full GB squad and also representing Ireland. Supporting family members make up the Hethersett contingent.
