BOWLS: Connaught Bowls Club, Attleborough, had a very successful week in Breckland League competitions.

The Breckland League Dennis Moore tournament was hosted very ably by the Hingham club and saw Connaught 'A' just pip Wymondham by 158 shots to 151 to be overall winners. Connaught 'B' did well to finish joint 3rd with Banham on 111 shots. In the individual disciplines Wymondham's Chris Mann won the singles while Sylvia Parsons and Christine Musk from Connaught 'A' won the pairs. A Wymondham triple skipped by Debbie Phillips beat a Connaught 'A' triple skipped by Sheila Bragg. The fours provided a big surprise with Joe Li-Rocchi skipping Connaught 'B' to a win in the final against Bill Adcock's Connaught 'A' combination.

In the Breckland League itself Connaught 'A' beat 3rd-placed Carleton Rode at home by 83-56 and 8-2. S Parsons 32-8 v R Baker, W Adcock 12-18 v N Davidson, O Secker 15-12 v T Newby, S Bragg 24-18 v G Coleman. Sylvia Parsons, Christine Musk and Lee Fallows were in tremendous form in a big win; the other matches were very close and hard-fought affairs.

Also in the Breckland League Connaught 'B' beat Harling Rec at home by 82-49 and 8-2. A Marshall 14-11, G Li-Rocchi 21-12, S Hall 14-15, J Hazell 32-10. Joyce Hazell, Ron Maddern and Philomena King all played superbly in the 32-10 win.
