Full points for Bucks

Asked to bat first, Old Buckenham were given a solid start by Nigel Armitage (42) and Ben Askew (12), who added 45 for the first wicket against tight bowling by left-arm veteran Alan Thompson and Norfolk U13 bowler Mike Shea.

It was first-change bowler Porter who finally broke the stand by having Askew caught by McAvoy in the 14th over.

Century-maker from the previous week, Kieron Brown, was in no mood to be detained and hit a quick 18 before he was caught in the deep by Skelly off Porter.

An unlucky Thompson finished a 12-over spell for 49, while Porter accounted for Armitage and Alex Hainsby to reduce Old Bucks to 103 for four off 26 overs.

With an injured Simon Newberry 58 not out coming in later at number five to anchor the last 20 overs, which produced another 117 runs, Josh Downes (29) and Sean Robinson (17) had useful partnerships to set a good target, despite quite short boundaries.

Porter (four for 58) and Udell (three for 23) were the main wicket-takers for Lowestoft.

Lowestoft were soon in trouble to the twin Fitt attack of Paul and David, who with two wickets each off their opening eight-over spells, reduced the opposition to 39 for four off 13 overs.

Paul bowled both Foster and Cooke, while David bowled Porter and had Skelly caught by Josh Downes. Captain of the day, Mike Banham, then took over the attack by bowling Udell, then having the dangerous Thompson caught by Keiron Brown, who also caught Willis.

Norfolk U13 opening bat, Josh McAvoy, tried to hold the innings together before he was also caught Brown bowled Banham for a fine 42.

Downes held Faulkner off Banham and the innings closed when Banham bowled the Lowestoft captain, Smith, to finish with six for 21 off 10 overs and a fine 106-run victory for a full 26 points.

Gary Hood, playing his first match in over a year, bowled an encouraging six overs for 20 with an indication of more pace to come.
