HETHERSETT ATHLETIC U15 went down 7-0 at Taverham and the Club's Under-14s lost 3-2 at Watton. Hethersett's goals came from Ed Lawrence and Lewis Baxter

HETHERSETT U12 went into this game thinking it was going to be easy after beating Dereham in there last two meetings, but were shocked at how well Dereham played in the first half. Hethersett took a two-goal lead through Jack Kirby and Taylor Morris only to see Dereham come back with a fine shot from the edge of the area to make the half-time score 2-1. After some stern words and a couple of changes at half-time, Hethersett upped their game to score six goals and miss two penalties to make the final score 8-1. Scorers: Jack Kirby 3, Taylor Morris 3, Tom Anderton and Lewis Harris. MoM: James Ingham.

HETHERSETT ATHLETIC U11 beat Toftwood 3-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Ollie Husband, taking his total for the season to 27 and making him the club's top scorer.

HETHERSETT ATHLETIC U10 were beaten 7-1 at Firside with their only goal coming from Sean Murray.

WYMONDHAM U9 Taverham Lions started the game strongly and put Wymondham under sustained pressure, but the home side defended stoutly with some good covering by Ben and Iwan. Wymondham tried to break out with some neat passing from Elliot and Alex, but Taverham continued to press and took a deserved lead. Wymondham came close to scoring themselves, but two long-distance shots from Denis were just wide of the goal. Taverham broke away and scored a second. A very good save from Seth prevented Taverham from adding to their tally.

Wymondham started the second half with much more urgency, epitomised by a strong tackle and surging run from Ewan. A fine pass from Billy put Elliot clear but his shot was just wide. Wymondham exerted a lot more pressure, but further shots from Ben and Elliot (after a good pass from Alex) could not produce a goal. Despite another great save from Seth, Taverham hit back on the break and scored two more goals in the second half.

Wymondham rallied really well in the second half and the score-line against the league leaders did not reflect their efforts and attacking play. On another day they might easily have scored two or three goals. Despite the defeat it was a good team performance, especially in the second half. Elliot and Denis always threatened to score; Iwan was solid in defence; and Ewan did well with his surging runs; but Billy stood out with a true captain's performance; tireless running with some impressive tackling and passing.

Final score: 4-0 to Taverham Lions. MoM: Billy.

WYMONDHAM TOWN UTD U11 entertained Hellesdon last Sunday and maintained their 100pc record with a convincing win. On a difficult pitch and with a strong wind behind them they swiftly went one up when Lewis cracked a fine left-foot shot home from 25 yards out. Jacob, Christy and Jake all went close as we took control.

Then Henry just failed to finish off a nice move involving Lewis, Christy and Jacob. From the goalkick, Lewis' header found Jake in the box and the striker made no mistake. Lewis and Jacob combined well once again as Sonny blasted home a third. Bryn's cross from the right was then met by Lewis, but the keeper made a fine save off the bar. Wymondham then lost sweeper Luke with injury just before the break but still went in 3-0 up. Now facing the stiff wind, Daniel and Lewis in turn, stepped in admirably to accompany Lucas and Sonny at the back, but the visitors hardly troubled them as Wymondham poured forward again.

Christy then found Henry in the box and he linked up superbly for Jake to hammer in the fourth goal. Bryn and Jake combined for Henry to make it 5-0 and almost immediately Jack C seized on to a loose ball in the box and fired home the sixth.

Christy and Henry then helped Jake notch his hat-trick, making it 7-0.

Hellesdon never gave up though and their keeper made smart saves to deny Jake, Lewis and Jacob. Despite also having four goals disallowed the boys still kept pushing forward and completed the scoring when Sonny burst through, played a one-two with Jake and smashed home his second.

Final score: 8-0. Another fine team performance in difficult conditions. MoM: Jacob Bush.
