This was to be a wake-up call for Newton and they rallied well to equalise through a Mark Appleton penalty and then took the lead when a fantastic move involving Mark, David Burgess and Tom Bridges resulted in the latter powering the ball home with his head for what was probably one of the goals of the season in terms of play.
The second half was a tight affair with both teams creating, and then missing chances.
The Horsemen were again guilty of failing to put the game to bed and Beccles were rewarded when they forced the ball over the line from a set piece to level the score. Man-of-the-match: Jake Clifford.
