Wymondham Short Mat Bowls Club have already played two matches in the Summer League Division Two and have started from where they left off in Division Three last season.

The newly-promoted club quickly got off to a flying start with an 8-0 home win against Kirby Bedon B with wins for C Mann's team of 20-3 and 22-9 and D Phillips' side 13-10 and 16-9.

Wymondham travelled to Horsford A in the Summer Cup. C Mann's triple won by some seven shots and D Phillips' triple lost by only four. It meant that at half-time Wymondham were +3 shots, with two points each.

But in the second half C Mann's triple lost by three, which meant D Phillips' triple had to win by one.

But it came down to the last bowl of the last end to end Wymondham's hopes of progressing to the next round, where they could only manage a draw. But they all played brilliantly throughout.

In the league Wymondham beat tough opposition in Hevingham B 6-2 to move them top of Division Two.

Results (skips names): C Mann 24, A Bunn 4 and C Mann 13, D Sharpe 12, D Phillips 21, D Sharpe 3 and D Phillips 10, A Bunn 15.

With a shot difference of 68 to 34 a very good six points and a good overall display.
