A father-and-son partnership of 134 wasn't enough for victory for New Buckenham against Ashmanhaugh, despite 195-6 being the team's best score of the season.

New Buckenham lost the toss and were put into bat. With the score at 24-2 off eight overs, Alan and Ryan Thompson started steadily in damp conditions to score 134 in 28 overs for the third wicket, before Alan Thompson was dismissed for 76.

Ryan Thompson, 14, went on to score a superb 57 (his first league 50) leaving Paul Meredith (9) and Ashley Ling (7 not out) to push the score towards 200.

With a big total to chase, Ashmanaugh lost two early wickets until Buxton (53) and Daymes (81 not out) put on 123 for the third wicket, taking them towards the total.

All the bowlers created chances but despite Glen Meredith taking two excellent catches, others were dropped, allowing Ashmanaugh a comfortable win.
