Over 500 runs for the loss of just six wickets. That was the success story for Hethersett and Tas Valley as they recorded a hat-trick of Saturday league wins.

Hethersett proved too hot for the opposition as the firsts and seconds both enhanced their chances of Norfolk Alliance promotion.

The first team travelled to Mundford and notched a comfortable seven-wicket victory after restricting the home side to 190 all out with Paul Reeve capturing 5-34.

Hethersett replied with 194-3 with all the batsmen contributing. Rob Mitchell (16), Carl Puttock (53), Nick Burrett (68), Simon Redhead (35no) and John Curtis (14no) saw Valley home.

Hethersett's rivals for promotion from Division Three both won, but Hethersett's haul of 24 points eclipsed that of both Horsford A and Great Witchingham A. Valley stay in third place but are now just four points behind the other two teams and have a vital game in hand over leaders Horsford in what has become a three horse race for the title.

nH&TV Seconds beat Stow A by nine wickets. They restricted the opposition to 174-7 with Phil Walmsley taking 4-60 and Rob Scott 2-24. In reply Hethersett lost in form opener Stephen Hayes for just one but Richard Ellis (61no) and Jack Smith (89no) saw Hethersett gallop home in 36.3 overs. Victory keeps Hethersett clear in second place in Division Five, nine points ahead of third placed Diss A.

nH&TV Thirds fielded a mix of very young and more experienced players for their Norfolk League match against Old Catton.

This week HTV firsts are home to Ashmanhaugh whilst the seconds have a tough task as they visit league leaders Cromer A. The thirds visit Old Buckenham C.

nHethersett and Tas Valley Sunday made it four wins out of four over the weekend for the club with a six run victory over Narborough in the Mid Norfolk Sunday League Division One. Hethersett batted first and scored 261-6 from their 40 overs with John Curtis starring with 115.
