Besthorpe-based TJ Motorsport had a dream start to their 2009 season as the BTCC supporting Ginetta Junior Championship kicked off at Brands Hatch at the weekend.
Pole position and race wins in both racers left their Sheffield teenager Jake Cook with a 20-point lead in the championship.
Bad starts in both of the televised races left Jake with work to do as he dropped places on the opening laps.
The young charger fought back in fine style with some great overtaking on his way you victory.
It was also a great weekend for TJ Motorsport driver Tom Howard who finished the first race in a solid fifth place.
Tom, who lives in East Dereham, surprised the team in the second race by coming home in third place enjoying his first visit to the podium. Tom's results put him in second place in the championship points behind Jake.

Louise Richardson, who drives the Teenage Cancer Trust car for the team, finished a creditable eighth in her car race debut and shows great potential. A trip to the gravel in race two ended a promising run but the team firmly believes she will be a front runner soon.
The championship continues in two weeks' time at the very fast and demanding Thruxton circuit which will be a fresh challenge for the young drivers.
