Double delight for Connaught

In the league match, played at Harling, Connaught A won 67-54 (6-4). R Oatway 14, P Dennis 19, S Bragg 23, R Buffrey 10, L Fallows 15, B Knappett 9, R Wells 15, R Meek 16. Harling played well and aggressively on their own mats and Connaught had to battle hard for their win. Sheila Bragg, Christine Musk and Russell Hales had an excellent win which gave Connaught a good shots advantage.
In the Five Pairs match played at Watton, Connaught A won 44-35. W Adcock 8 v R Meek 8, S Parsons 15 v R Buffrey 2, S Bragg 5 v B Knappet 12, L Fallows 11 v P Dennis 3, R Wells 5 v J Court 10. This was another hard-fought win. Connaught were indebted to Sylvia Parsons and Christine Musk and to Lee Fallows and Ollie Allen for winning by large margins. Connaught A will play Wymondham in the final at Carleton Rode on March 18.
In the Breckland League, Connaught B lost 52-75 (4-6) at Wayland. R Ramm 17-16, J Barnes 20-12, K Lurcock 3-28, A Marshall 12-19. Joanna Barnes skipped Christine Ross and Joyce Catling to a particularly good win in an improved Connaught B performance.
In the Tens League, Connaught lost 47-53 (0-2) at Coltishall in an exciting contest. Pairs: J Barnes 9-14, W Adcock 11-8. Triples: L Fallows 16-16, R Oatway 11-15. Every match was close with high quality bowling from both sides.
