Kelsey and Shelby Davis along with Chloe Cotton from Attleborough High School were selected on Sunday as part of two Eastern Counties Girls' Rugby Squads which travelled to Crawley for an inter-county tournament.

Kelsey was selected as part of the U18 squad and this is her first year in this age group having moved up from U15 rugby at the start of the season from the U15 age group. Her younger sister Shelby was part of the U15 squad for the second year running.

Chloe was also selected for the U18 squad.

The girls who all play for Swaffham RUFC were part of a group of 10 girls selected from the club who travelled along with eight players from Wymondham and five from Holt as part of the 37 strong Eastern Counties squad.

After a very long trip to Crawley the U18 squad won one, drew one and lost one match with the strongest performance of the day delivered against a tough Oxfordshire team where Eastern Counties won 20-0 with Alex Grant (Swaffham) scoring two of the four tries in the game.

The U15s played four matches in total, losing the first two, before drawing one and finishing with a win (also 20-0) which saw Katie Park (also from Swaffham), Ellie Ready (Holt) and Izzy Allen (Wymondham) getting on the scoreboard with a try.

Kelsey and Shelby's cousin Emily was selected as joint captain of the U15 squad.
