THE week for Connaught Bowls Club, Attleborough, was overshadowed by the death of Ivor Moore, former club captain, former bar manager and a huge character.
The club's sympathy and condolences go to Ivor's wife, Vera.
On the bowling front things went well. Both men's EBA sides had solid wins. In South 1 the A side won 69-50 and 4-1 at home to Long Stratton. W Adcock 20-22, P Castle 30-13 and J Ross 19-15.
In South Two the B side won 68-53 and 4-1 at Gissing B. R Gilmour 21-15, A Sparrow 20-24 and D Liles 27-14.
In the Ashill Mixed Triples League, Division One, Connaught A won 51-45 and 6-2 at Swaffham A.
Also in Division One Connaught B lost 53-66 and 2-6 at home to Thetford A.
In Division Three Connaught C won 58-50 and 6-2 at home to Mattishall.
In the National Mixed Fours Bill and Diana Adcock and Heather and John Winup lost 11-20 at home to a North Walsham/Norfolk BC four skipped by Jason Roope. In the County Championships a men's four skipped by Jim Ross lost 19-21 at home to a Diss four skipped by Eric Rawsthorne.
The Connaught players had led 19-12 after 19 ends, dropped three and four and then lost the extra end.
