OLD Buckenham first XI maintained their unbeaten run in the league season with a winning draw away to Bradenham.

Highlights of the bowling performance were Mann's 3-29, and Austin's 2-43, as Bucks had to settle for a 90 per cent winning draw.

On a difficult pitch, OBCC's Jon Fudge and Ben Mann started brightly. Some good running and effective punishment of the bad ball took the score to 33 in just six overs, before Fudge succumbed to an excellent catch in the gully to be dismissed for 14.

This was quickly followed by the loss of Mann (10), bowled by Whyte with just one further run added.

Perry and Jack Jarvis proceeded to stabilise the Buck's innings, dispatching anything loose and keeping the scoreboard moving, and the 50 partnership duly arrived before Jarvis was caught for 21 off 33 balls, the score by now 85-3.

With Perry continuing to punish the bad ball he and Andy Lawrence took the score on to 124, before the latter was caught behind for 13. Sam Mann (4), Rob Austin (1), and Andy Austin (0) all came and went as Bradenham looked to continue bowling well, Bucks wobbling slightly at 151-7.

Jimmy Heaney strode out to the crease with the aim of pushing Bucks on to a respectable total.

Heaney was dismissed, stumped for an excellent 17 off just 20 balls.

Perry (89no) guided home his side in the closing overs, supported by Pete Goldsmith (6) and Phil King (3 no) to post 216-9.

Bucks' bowling attack started well, Jarvis (0-18) and Goldsmith

(0-25) unlucky not to make an early breakthrough. Lawrence (1-22) bowled Evans and King (1-23) dismissed Whyte for 13.

After surviving a close run-out chance, Bradenham continued to bat well. It took a good catch in the deep by Goldsmith off the bowling of former skipper Rob Austin to provide the breakthrough Bucks were after, the score now 117-3.

Heaney (1-42) dismissed Denmark, caught and bowled.

The introduction of Ben Mann saw mainstay Pat Dewing fall and the scales tip in Bucks' favour.

Matthews and Blakey then added a further 20 to set up what was looking like a tight finish before Mann dismissed both with the score on 198. With Rob Austin trapping Caffyn in front with no further runs added, three wickets had fallen for no runs. Bradenham hung on to finish on 210 for 8.
