Bowls: Good start to Cup challenge by Connaught A

PUBLISHED: 21:36 12 April 2012

Connaught Bowls Club, Attleborough, made an excellent start in the first leg of the final of the short mat Norwich Cup.

Connaught A played Coltishall at home in the first leg and won nine of the 12x6 ends matches to take a points lead of 18-6 (shots 80-52) into the second leg at Coltishall next week.

Connaught A need just seven points in the away leg to win the cup, but will realise that there are small margins in this form of the game; nothing is being taken for granted.

Triples’ results at home: W Adcock, R Wells and D Adcock 6-4, 3-5, 2-4, O Secker, J Winup and R Secker 8-6, 5-3, 5-4, S Parsons, L Fallows and C Musk 7-6, 9-3, 6-9, S Bragg, O Allen and T Musk 14-4, 8-1, 7-3.
