BOWLS: Connaught Bowls Club, had a quiet week on the short mat front, with just one match for Connaught 'B' in the Breckland League. Having suffered a maximum points defeat at high-flying Carleton Rode, now third in the Breckland League, Connaught 'B' made amends two days later by beating fourth-placed Watton at home by 72-39 and 10-0. R Ramm 17-7, A Marshall 19-13, G Li-Rocchi 19-8, A Rush 17-11. The Connaught leads bowled solidly to secure the advantage and the twos and skips were able to consolidate. In a team performance the Marshall family stood out with Alan having a brilliant game at skip and 15-year old grandson, Jack, bowling very well at 2 to Alison Rush.
