Wymondham Rugby Club's position as a community and family-friendly club has been further recognised by an award of over £1,300 by Active Norfolk to support the creation of a girls' section at Tuttles Lane.
The money will be spent on two sets of shirts for both a senior and a junior girls' team, together with training bibs, water bottles and first aid kits.
Chairman Roger Miller said: “This award will enable us to offer more young people the opportunity to play rugby and, at the same time, to also be part of an increasingly successful community club.
“Our wish has always been to be an inclusive club and this award will help us towards that objective. We are very keen that our club reflects the makeup of the whole local community - everyone is welcome.”
