OLD Buckenham's dismal August run of defeats continued on Saturday as they lost to Diss B by four wickets to fall out of the promotion race for this season.
Having only seven regular players, Bucks were thankful to Rob Downes, David Fitt, Calum Waller and Haydn Eldridge for stepping in at short notice.
Batting first on a low, slow Attleborough Rec pitch runs were hard to come by.
Ian Sinclair and Joe Perry put on 16 before wickets started to tumble. Sinclair and Rod Eldridge were the only batsmen to get double-figure scores as all the batsmen struggled. Bucks were bowled out for 63.
Charlie Pask, 14, took 3-10 and John Sparrow, 17, took 3-20.
Diss found batting just as difficult and struggled against Paul Fitt and Ian Sinclair.
At 31 for four wickets, Bucks were in with a shout but a stand of 22 between S Worsley and J Sage took the game away from the hosts.
Josh Downes bowled Sage to get Bucks a third bowling point but Diss crept over the line to win by four wickets.
Bucks' final league game is at Lowestoft on Saturday, meet 12 at Queen's Square.
