Children from Robert Kett Junior School gave a special performance when they helped Nell Comber celebrate her 100th birthday.

Nell is a tenant at Robert Kett Court, Housing with Care Scheme in Wymondham and celebrated her special day with the help of family and friends at the scheme where she has lived since it opened five years ago.

Chris Mowle, cabinet member for adult social services visited and presented Nell with a bouquet of flowers.

The schoolchildren also prepared a very special gift for Nell - a history of the last 100 years marking events such as the first and second World Wars and the first man on the moon.

Nell enjoys music and cooking her own lunch in her self-contained flat in Robert Kett Court, she is also one of the scheme's 'silver surfers' using the computer to keep in touch with people via e-mail.

As part of the celebrations Nell also presented the Robert Kett Court poetry cup to Fred Statham-Eldred from Robert Kett Junior School.
