The Queen's Head pub at Wymondham will be allowed to extend its hours of opening despite objections from local residents.
South Norfolk Council's licensing act committee on Tuesday approved an application by GRS Inns to vary the pub's premises licence, giving a half hour extension on the current opening times. The supply of alcohol will be limited to 11.30pm Mondays to Thursdays, midnight Fridays and Saturdays, and 11pm Sundays, with closing 30 minutes later.
The pub is in Bridewell Street, in the town centre, and seven letters of objection were received from neighbouring residents concerned about late night noise disturbance from musical entertainment within the building, and anti-social behaviour. The town council also opposed the application.
Consent was granted subject to conditions relating to the closure of windows and doors, apart from egress, and a designated hotline for residents in case there are any complaints.
