A surgery has celebrated a successful 20 years of keeping a town's residents healthy.

Wymondham Medical Centre marked two decades at its premises on Postmill Close on September 21 with balloons donated by Simply Cards, bunting, and fruit donated by Wymondham Morrisons.

The medical centre moved from Bridewell St in 1998. One man who saw the move and has worked there ever since is Ian Websdale, who has been a prescriptions manager for 24 years.

He said: 'We have grown this building as the town has grown. When you look back 20 years there were seven GPs and now it's gone up to 15, and from three nurses to a whole nursing team, nine nurses and six assistants.

'It's amazing where you actually go as a surgery. It's wonderful. I think with most people if they ever move in town they are going to want to know the local doctors and schools, the two main things. I really do think it's very important.'
