A children’s hospice has received a financial boost after a group of water-loving Lions raised more than £4,000 from two charity swims.

A large cheque was presented to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) last week following the fundraising efforts of the Wymondham Lions group.

More than 100 children and adults took part in the charity swims at Wymondham College and Wymondham Leisure Centre in October.

The U3A group in Wymondham raised the most in sponsorship from the events, which will go towards the work of the children’s hospice charity that has a centre at Quidenham.

Wymondham Lions president Derek Fripp said: “A fantastic amount was raised following our two charity swims and once again we would like to thank all who took part or supported us with these events.”

It was the fifth year that the Lions have organised the charity swims and this year’s will take place in October.
