Wymondham Heritage Museum has closed for winter after a bumper season.
The museum has welcomed a record number of visitors during 2017, in a year which saw the reception area refurbished, the introduction of new interactive computers and the addition of two murals painted by artist Hilary Shuter.
To mark the closure, receptions were held for the volunteers who have manned the tea room.
Mike Foyle, chairman of the management team, said: 'I pay tribute to you all. Without you, we wouldn't be here. The management team thank you sincerely.'
Elizabeth Portsmouth, who has run the tea room for many years, has officially retired, but will still volunteer occasionally.
At the reception, Ted Collins, maintenance manager, also outlined the musuem's plans for the future, which include the introduction of more interactive features.
