One of the region's biggest rugby clubs is getting bigger still – by launching a new team for teenage girls.
The growing success of the women's game has seen England's senior team, the Red Roses, again make the World Cup final and thousands of women across the country take up the sport.
Children play mini rugby in mixed teams, but boys and girls go into separate squads once they are teenagers. Now Wymondham RFC is launching a team for U13 girls so they can carry on the sport.
Holly Crook, from Wymondham's adult Wasps' squad, explains: 'It's been so frustrating to see girls have such fun in Minis and then have no where to go after that.
'It's been a question of numbers – you need enough players to build a squad and you need other teams in the area to play against.
'That's been difficult in the past, but now the women's game has grown so much we think the time is right.'
Girls aged both U12 and U13 at the start of September will be able to join the new squad. Training sessions with RFU-qualified coaches are held at the club on Tuttles Lane in Wymondham on Tuesday evenings at 6pm.
The Wasps' lead coach Aaron Swanborough explained: 'Women's rugby is a phenomenon. It's growing massively and we've had great success here at Wymondham recruiting new players and getting promoted this season.
'But we need to secure the future and a big part of that is to introduce girls of all ages into rugby, so that they can learn and develop and eventually play senior women's rugby.'
