A Wymondham club, which is made up of retired businesspeople, celebrated its 800th meeting last week.

Members of the Wymondham and District Probus Club gathered on Wednesday for its landmark meeting and the occasion was marked with president David Abra cutting a celebratory cake.

The club first met in May 1976 and meets on alternate Wednesdays at the Wymondham Football Club social room.

For most meetings there is a guest speaker with club members sharing their interests and musical talents. In addition, there are quarterly lunches, ladies lunches, an annual quiz and social outings.
