Two men are journeying off the beaten track in a beaten car to raise money for a charity close to their hearts.
Uncle and nephew Ady Mothersole, 45, and Josh Green, 27, better known as the Wymondham Wombles, have embarked on a road trip around Europe to raise money for Wymondham Dementia Support Group.
The pair have been taking part in the Scrappage Rally since 2016, in which they buy old cars worth less than £500 and clock up thousands of miles around Europe.
They hope to raise £2,000 for the charity, having raised £1,362 last year and £840 in 2016.
Mr Green, of Suton Lane, Wymondham, said the charity held a special place in his heart after his grandfather John Harvey died in January this year.
'It's nice to see the money go to a good cause,' he added.
The Wymondham Wombles began their journey in Wreningham on Sunday, driving down to Dover, through France, Switzerland and into Austria.
After a rest day on Wednesday in Prague, the pair will take on the challenge of driving 1,000 miles in a day today before journeying back to the UK and ending the rally in Norfolk on Sunday.
Mr Green said: 'It's going very well, everything is going smoothly.'
Mr Green earned a well-deserved break on Wednesday to belatedly celebrate his birthday in Prague, after turning 27 on Tuesday, September 11.
Speaking on the day of his birthday, he said: 'We'll be doing a bit of sightseeing and having a few drinks.'
Even after driving several hundred miles a day for sometimes 12 hours straight, the old car, which they had bought for £250, is showing no signs of breaking down.
Mr Green said they weren't so fortunate last year, when their car didn't even make it out of Norfolk and broke down in Attleborough. Although there are plenty of beautiful sights to take in, the duo are left with little else for entertainment. The car is, however, equipped with a casette player and the pair have managed to find two casettes beneath the seats - one by an unknown artist and another on Sounds of the 60s.
'We do have the radio but we can't understand a word they are saying,' Mr Green added. 'I really hope we find an Aux cable.'
