Train operator One has opened a new ticket office at Attleborough station, restoring ticket office staffing in the town for the first time in decades.A company spokesman said the move reflected the continued success of the Norwich to Cambridge line since the introduction of direct train services on the route in 2002.
Train operator One has opened a new ticket office at Attleborough station, restoring ticket office staffing in the town for the first time in decades.
A company spokesman said the move reflected the continued success of the Norwich to Cambridge line since the introduction of direct train services on the route in 2002.
“Passenger numbers have consistently grown since the service commenced and 700,000 passengers now use the route each year, with stations such as Attleborough proving increasingly popular for commuting to Norwich and Cambridge,” the spokesman said.
The ticket office at Attleborough will be open from 7am until 11am Monday to Friday and also for Norwich City home matches at Carrow Road.
It is the latest initiative by One to restore ticket office services at previously unstaffed stations in response to growing passenger numbers. Part-time staff are already employed at Brundall, North Walsham and Wymondham.
