The Hethersett and Mulbarton Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) has been targeting drinking in the Memorial Gardens in Hethersett as part of its priorities for the village.

As part of the operation, police confiscated alcohol from a group of young people caught drinking in the park on Friday, July 30.

The youths were spoken to by officers and one person from the group was banned from entering any park area in Hethersett for 48 hours.

PCSO Oliver Butcher said: “This is an issue which has been a concern to local people and we are working to reduce alcohol- related anti-social behaviour in the area.”

The next Hethersett and Mulbarton SNT will hold a police surgery at Keswick Hall between 6pm and 8pm on Tuesday, August 17.
