Police praised after finding fire
Two police officers were praised for their quick actions after discovering a blaze at an estate agents in Attleborough.PC Paul Borman and Special Sgt Robin Smith found smoke coming from Millbank Estate Agents in Connaught Plain while on patrol in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Two police officers were praised for their quick actions after discovering a blaze at an estate agents in Attleborough.
PC Paul Borman and Special Sgt Robin Smith found smoke coming from Millbank Estate Agents in Connaught Plain while on patrol in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The officers evacuated the residents of the upstairs flats and patrons and staff of the nearby The Bear pub before the arrival of the fire service.
Firefighters from Attleborough and Wymondham tackled the blaze at about 2.50am on Sunday.
Insp Lynne Cross praised the efforts of the safer neighbourhood team officers.
'On this occasion the two officers who responded to the incident promptly evacuated residents to a safe location and alerted the fire service before the fire spread. The officers' swift action stopped the situation from becoming serious and endangering people's lives,' she said.
