ATTLEBOROUGH woman Minette Capper is embarking on the challenge of a lifetime - to run the London Marathon and raise funds for people with mental health problems.

Minette wants to raise more than 2000 for Mind and, as well as the gruelling run, has asked local companies for support, pledging to print the logo of the firm who gives the most money on her running shirt for the big day.

She is also organising a Night at the Races at the Connaught Hall in Attleborough on February 13 at 7pm. Tickets are 4 per adult and 2 per child and can be obtained through Minette herself or from the Flower Box in Attleborough.

People can sponsor a race for 30 (only eight available), buy a horse for 5 and win 20 if their horse wins, or be a jockey for 2 with a chance to win 8.

There will also be a craft fair during the day on February 13 from 10am until 3pm. Tables are available at 10 for any crafters who would like to display at the fair. Entrance to the public is FREE. There will be tea, coffee and snacks available for sale.

For further details please contact Minette on 01953 452487 or mcapper@btopenworld.com.

Minette will also be holding a few car boot sales at Banham Zoo and has so far received lots of items from friends and family which she will sell. She's also selling coffee, tea and soup at her son's football matches is hoping all these fundraising ideas will help her reach her target by the time of the marathon.

Funds raised by Minette will help the leading mental health charity Mind continue it's work with the one in four people who experience mental health problems. The MindinfoLine is a lifeline to thousands of people, offering free confidential support to people in crisis, who might otherwise have nowhere else to turn.

Minette is raising money for Mind because she herself has needed their support during the past year when she was diagnosed with severe depression.

Her marathon bid - on April 25 - is just in time for her 40th birthday in May.

If you would like to sponsor or support Minette in any way, contact her on 01953 452487 (mcapper@btopenworld.com) or donate online at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/MinetteCapper.
