A sale aimed at keeping babies' and children's equipment and toys within Norfolk has been hailed a resounding success. Cots, changing tables and baby activity mats found new homes within minutes of the start of the sale at the Central Hall on Saturday.

Wymondham mums Clare Ferns and April Paine sought to create a green way to sell children's goods by selling items for local families to local families.

April said: “I've sold hundreds of items on eBay but I knew there had to be a more environmentally-friendly way of selling locally.”

A portion of the profits from the sale will be given to Abbey Kindergarten Pre-School and Busy Bees Playgroup. Several bags of unsold items were donated to The Children's Society, Wymondham.

The mums plan to organise another sale in the Autumn. If you have good quality baby equipment and toys for consignment, please ring (01953) 600897.
